What You See..
What it took to capture this photo is more than meets the eye…
What you see: My son Bray Bray and I standing together in a rare snapshot when I’m able to put my arms around him while he is upright.
What you don’t see: The tears I cried later that night as I looked at this photo, which was 11 years of physical therapy in the making. The fights with the insurance company; the anger and frustration I held onto for way too long until I came to finally accept certain things; the bawling my eyes out when I finally let go and grieved the life he might have had so I could embrace the life he does have; and the miracle of him almost being lost to us two years ago but then fighting through and recovering.
I might not get photos like this one often, but what I do get every day is his visceral belly laugh; his warrior spirit; and his shining light.
And I am honored to be his witness; to give him a voice he can’t give himself; and to share his miracle with you.
Video: My son Bray Bray working hard at intensive physical therapy… these steps might not seem like much, but they are everything!

Behind the post: I poured my heart out about Bray Bray after taking this photo with him at intensive physical therapy on Friday. My Note is resonating and so I wanted to share it with you (my subscribers) as well…
Thank you so much for reading and for you continued support of Bray Bray and my journey as his dad and his witness.
That’s all from me — Chris B.
